Founder Story

This is the story of SOXS. It starts years ago with grandma knitting socks, as grandmas do. Goat wool socks. Strong, warm and practical. For at home on the couch. Grandma knits socks and the grandchildren wear them. Grandma dies, the socks stay. Davide and her sister Soscha wear Grandma’s goatswool socks until they are completely used up.

Years later, Soscha and her mother see the socks. Grandma’s goat wool socks and the socks of Davide, who died shortly before. In her 24 years, she has lived a whole life, she did live for three, full of warmth and love.

That is the beginning of SOXS, that unexpected encounter, with Grandma’s socks and Davide’s socks. The memory, warmth and love that Soscha and her mother feel when they hold the socks in their hands for the first time. Then they place their first order and label the socks: SOXS.

Before long, the unexpected and emotional encounter with grandma and Davide’s socks takes centre stage. Socks with a story, a story of warmth and love.
