QUESTION OF THE WEEK: “Why is the Soxs wool from New Zealand?”

We have the answer for your question!

The wool of Soxs comes from New Zealand. This is all due to the climate conditions in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the ecological climate makes the wool from sheep within Europe unsuitable to use.

The wool of the sheep from Europe is too short for the machines that SOXS uses. This would decrease the quality and of course we don’t want that! We therefore use the wool of sheep from New Zealand. The sheep live a good life there and we follow guidelines from the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) on animal welfare and sustainability. So we do not only have the quality high, but also that this happens in an animal friendly way!
